LEaT X CiNEC, which took place on February 28 and 29, 2024 in the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich, was a successful networking event for the entertainment and film industry: 57 exhibitors with over 100 brands made up the very well-filled exhibition area. More than 1,600 satisfied participants bustled between the stands, confirming that the merger of the two events LEaT X and CiNEC was a successful premiere. This LEaT event also impressed above all with its relaxed setting and the high-quality exchange between industry experts.
With the success of LEaT X CiNEC, the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich was transformed into the perfect meeting place for film and event professionals, offering all participants the opportunity to exchange ideas with industry colleagues or network with new contacts. This created connections and synergies that have the potential to shape the future of the industry.
High-quality exhibition with an experiential character
In addition to the exhibition area, the CiNE Congress, which was perfectly integrated into the event, offered information and further training from the world of film technology and attracted many visitors with inspiring personalities such as Oscar-nominated cameraman Jost Vacano. Vacano, who is known for his work on films such as “Das Boot” and “Total Recall”, also received the Film&TV Camera Award at the event. Common topics such as virtual production, sustainability and the shortage of skilled workers were discussed between the related industries. The organizer was particularly pleased that a large number of young professionals were also represented and thus took the first steps towards their professional networking together with LEaT X CiNEC.
Almost 40 lucky participants were also given the chance to gain an insight into the extensively renovated Great Olympic Hall as part of an exclusive tour with a tech focus. They learned first-hand from guide Georg Schillay what makes the architecturally impressive arena a modern event location. Another highlight was the Virtual Production Studio by bright!, which immersed participants in the world of virtual production and presented VR & AR as innovative tools for creative storytelling.
Successful events through communication and courage
The LEaT X CiNEC continues the success of the still relatively new LEaT X events with a transformative character. Changing locations always enables new collaborations and synergies. In the case of this year’s LEaT X CiNEC, Duc Nguyen (Director LEaT) emphasizes the strategic importance of the cooperation with the film industry: “The merger of LEaT X and CiNEC has given all participants access to adjacent markets and thus created new synergies. The decision to hold LEaT X in Munich this year was a joint initiative with our exhibitors, with whom we are in close contact on an ongoing basis. The Olympic Park, with its rich history and the numerous major events that take place here, proved to be the ideal venue for us as an event for the event industry. The location also benefits from its proximity to Munich’s large film industry.”
